On Wednesday, November 11, 2020 Richard Charles “Skip” Gise, passed away of
liver cancer at the age of 65. He was at home in Palmdale at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife Linda, and their family Tawnya and Donald, and
grandchildren, Kyle and Kayla, as well as his mother, Patricia Gise and sister Cindy
(Elaine) Gise. He is predeceased by his father, Richard Claude Gise, and many
aunts and uncles.
Skip was born on Sept. 23, 1955 in Encino, California. He lived in the San Fernando
Valley and graduated from Granada Hills High School. Throughout his life he
drove various kinds of vehicles, from limousines to 18 wheelers, and just about
everything in between. He eventually drove a liquid propane truck and went on
to become manager of the company’s rail terminal.
In addition to spending time with his family, including his beloved dogs, Skip loved
going hunting for ghosts, restoring old cars and trucks, and going on many road
trips with Linda. He was compassionate, kind and level-headed. He always had
time to listen to others and helped in any way he could.
Private graveside services will be held at Oakwood Memorial Park, Chatsworth on
Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Skip’s memory to
Best Friends Animal Society.
