Timothy Nash Gorman passed away on August 10, 2016 at 19 years of age. Timothy was the beloved son of Sherry and Terry Gorman, the brother of Michael, Candice, and Nathan, and the well-loved grandson of Ruth Erickson. He loved his family deeply.
Tim had a flair for art, including drawing and calligraphy. He also enjoyed basketball, weight lifting, and listening to music. He was fascinated with martial arts and especially enjoyed Bruce Lee movies.
Some of the many proud moments that Sherry and Terry shared with their son:
At age 13, Tim attended Devil Pups, a Marine Corps program at Camp Pendleton, California, in which teens spent 10 days of summer vacation going through a tough Marine Boot Camp. Tim completed the Boot Camp and proudly marched in the graduation ceremony.
In 2015, Tim graduated from Quartz Hill High School in Quartz Hill, California, after working hard for months to make up missed work and classes. Tim considered a career in the military, but was also interested in welding.
Later that year, Tim took welding classes at Antelope Valley College. He literally did a dancing jig, snapping his fingers, down the aisle of Harbor Freight Tools while shopping there for welding supplies.
Tim struggled with life's obstacles, trying with all his might and strength to overcome them. It was a privilege and honor to have him in our family. We know Tim is at peace now. We all will love him forever.
The righteous man perishes, and no one lays it to heart; devout men are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous man is taken away from calamity, he enters into peace. (Isaiah 57: 1)
Tim is survived by his parents Sherry and Terry Gorman, by siblings Michael, Candice, and Nathan, as well as by aunts and uncles Cathy and Jim Wattell, Ed and Linh Erickson, and Donna Erickson. Tim was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother Ruth Erickson and by his biological father Milton Townsend Jr.
