Verna Ann Tafoya and Roger Tafoya Sr. were polar opposites but at same time inseparable. You would rarely ever see one of them without the other. They were married for over half of a century. It’s suspected if we can see them now, they’d be sitting on a couch, holding hands whilst watching UFO documentaries for an eternity. The greatest part about them is how content they were with one another.
Roger Tafoya Sr. was an elaborate storyteller and had great ‘acting’ skills that stayed with him into his later years. Roger was a Navy veteran and served as a Corpsman at Alameda Naval Hospital. He was a loving father and husband to Verna Ann Tafoya for sixty-four years. Roger left this world on May 9th, 2020.
Verna Ann Tafoya was the sweetest person this world has ever known and a notoriously slow eater. Verna’s love and kindness knew no bounds. She only raised her voice when she was yodeling with her childhood friends or trying to get Roger Sr.’s attention at the dining table. Verna was a banker until retirement and never stopped working to give her family a better life. Verna left this world on June 20th, 2021.
Both Roger and Verna passed away from natural causes and shared a long life together. Roger Tafoya Sr. is survived by Jacqueline Harris.
Verna and Roger Tafoya Sr. are survived by Lisa (Ronald) Boswell, Roger (Taunya) Tafoya Jr., ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren with many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, August 3rd at 11:00am.
