Veta Chapman (Stone) passed away June 3, 2017 at Palmdale Regional Medical Center at the age of 63, surrounded by family and friends. Veta is survived by her husband of 38 years, Donald Chapman. She is preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Stone. Veta was born on March 25, 1954 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was a resident of the Antelope Valley since 1956. She attended Mariposa Elementary School, Piute Middle School, and graduated from Antelope Valley High School in 1972. Veta was a Respiratory Therapist and worked for Antelope Valley Hospital for over 40 years. Veta had a wide range of hobbies; she was an accomplished seamstress, an avid and successful gambler, she worked with ceramics, and was well known for her delicious cooking and baking. Veta had a lifelong love of rock and roll and enjoyed a good concert. Veta also loved animals, especially her cats and dogs. Veta’s life was filled with compassion, creativity, and adventure. Veta will be forever remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.
