In Memoriam: Willie O. Seebert (June 29, 1955 - December 24, 2023)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Willie Seebert, a
beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Surrounded by loved ones, Willie departed this world in the early morning
hours of Christmas Eve after a valiant and courageous battle against
metastatic prostate cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and
unwavering kindness.

Born on June 29, 1955, in Springfield, Illinois, Willie's life was marked
early by integrity, honor, and dedication. An Eagle Scout in his early years,
he loved the outdoors and embarked on a path of service and excellence that
continued into adulthood

In the US Army, Willie served for four honorable years as an Explosive
Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician. Displaying remarkable bravery, he
worked to help dismantle minefields in Kuwait, destroying tens of thousands
of pounds of munition and explosives, showcasing a selflessness that set him
apart.

He later went on to become a safety officer for National Technical Systems,
a company which provides comprehensive engineering and testing
laboratories serving the Aerospace, Nuclear and Defense industries.
A devoted family man, Willie celebrated 43 years of marriage this year with
his beloved wife, Lilia. Together they raised 3 children; Christine (Zach) of
Saint Hedwig TX, Melida (Bill) of La Vernia, TX, and his son Lupe
(Debby) of Quartz Hill, Ca. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and
four great-grandchildren, all recipients of his boundless love and wisdom.
A good Christian, Willie's faith was an integral part of his life. His kindness,
compassion, and generosity touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough
to know him. Willie Seebert was a wonderful man, a true friend, and a pillar
of strength for those who needed it most. He will be deeply missed, and his
absence will be felt by many.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the EOD
Warrior Foundation.

A memorial service to celebrate Willie's life will be announced later this
week.

May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of
all who had the privilege of knowing him.
